St. Francis Solanus Organ Now Completed
The reinstallation of a 3 manual and pedal, 61 rank pipe organ at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church is now complete. This refurbished Wicks pipe organ was located at St. Joseph Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio. The Swell, Great, and Pedal divisions were reinstalled at St. Francis Solanus behind an existing facade. Due to space limitations and specific tonal needs for the Chancel divisions, the original Positiv division was not reused. Instead, a smaller Wicks unit organ was modified and reinstalled at St. Francis to play as a Chancel division.
In order to accommodate the new organ specification, the original three manual console was completely refurbished. New draw knob jams and a new rocker tablet rail were built to allow for extra stops and couplers. Mechanical couplers were replaced with a new switching system, which also includes a 12-step transposer, 128 memory level combination action, a European-style piston sequencer, and MIDI. New piston rails were added along with extra toe studs.
In order to install the organ into its new location, a number of new wind chests were designed and built by Bogue Organs specifically for this installation. The switching was upgraded to solid state, and all pipes were cleaned and revoiced.

Christ Episcopal Church Organ
Purchasing a preowned pipe organ is usually a much more cost-effective way to improve a church's music program. When St. Raphael Episcopal Church, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, closed, the congregation wanted to make sure their pipe organ found a new home.
At the same time, Christ Episcopal Church, in Streator, Illinois, was living with a failing 1920's era Moller organ. After realizing that the cost of rebuilding their current instrument would be much greater than replacing it with St. Raphael's 7-rank Moller, Christ Episcopal decided to contract Bogue Organs to remove and reinstall the instrument in their church.
This particular instrument received all-new chest bearers, and was reconfigured to fit in its new home. The exposed Great division received a custom case, and all chest wiring was updated, fused, and prepared with proper connectors for a new solid-state switching system, to be added sometime in the future.
All of the pipes in the organ were carefully cleaned and revoiced, to bring new life into the instrument.

Catherine
Kasper Home Organ
Bogue
Organs is proud to present a 15 rank organ installed in the
chapel of the Catherine Kasper Home, in Donaldson, Indiana.
This Wicks pipe organ was originally installed in the chapel of St. Mary's Hospital, in Streator, Illinois. In its previous home, the entire instrument was located in a chamber and only consisted of14 ranks of pipes.
When the organ was relocated, the entire organ was reconfigured to fit the unique space made available for the organ at the Catherine Kasper Home. An 8' Principal was added to the GREAT division, and both existing and new pipes were refinished and integrated into the facade design. Bogue Organs designed and fabricated the new case and grill, new bearers for the organ chests, and five new windchests. A new solid-state combination was installed to replace the mechanical combination from the original organ.
The
organ was completely revoiced to better meet the musical
and liturgical needs of its current owner.
